That was the whales way of telling them they are too close. They are lucky that the whales did not breach near them to really prove their point.

I remember from a National Geographic Special that there is a family of Orcas that lives on the Southern California coast.

I think they're called the Los Angeles Resident Pod or something like that...so it's bound to happen to one of us eventually.

Pretty amazing footage.

I was on a 3/4 boat 2 months ago and we saw a pod of Orcas, the captain and crew freaked as they they said that was a very rare sighting and they never see them. I felt Like I was on a whale watching tour as the Orcas appeared to be cashing a Blue whale and her calf. Kinda cool to see.

Not sure if its the pod your referring, as i have heard of it too, but a guy i know who used to work for Dana Wharf said 2 of their boats spotted a pod off the coast yesterday.
