Buddy's 2nd time on a yak. Bastard.
1st big . Somehow the camera clicked as I pulled it up. This was the fish that hooked me. Recently, on the wrong kind Ice Ice Baby Technically, I guess this is posing. The action of the shot, is a local La Jolla Tunie stabbing me in the hand with the treble hook of my rapalla. Wise words learned later from Aguachico "Rear treble hooks catch fish, middle treble hooks catch fishermen" Does this count as posing? The wrong kin Locals 6 a.m. Steveooo's Gayak fishing guide service. PM for rates |

I thought the same thing every time I saw a wipe, until I wiped with 2 skinny-ass trevalas in 8 inches of water and mine didn't snap, yet were still in the holders so I know they did a full roll. I started thinking about it and I feel it's probably extremely unlikely a rod will snap in that kind of situation. Obviously it depends a lot on the length of the rod, the depth of water and quality of rod, but a rod will most likely not be put under enough prolonged stress to snap. It will most likely roll out of the bend, if that makes sense
I could be wrong though |

Here's one of Adi from '07 trying to figure out
how to bass fish mission bay. Don't forget Adi, you've got to hold the fishing pole--just in case... Here's a couple of me with a 12' plus T. The fight was unreal, the steaks tasty, and the memory, totally embedded. Sammons caught one the same size a few years back. He was lucky enough to have a private boat bring it to shore, since there's no way to paddle back with one this size. His weighed 175lbs. The T is resting on my rails while my legs are spread just for balance. Without the help of my buddies the OTW shot was impossible. Right after the shot, the fish was butchered. |
