SD bay fishing?

headed to SD bay this afternoon. plan is to drift for halibut and throw lures for bass. dont know what else the bay holds. also bringing a few nets to drop around sunset to get a few pulls in before heading home.

obviously drifting we can pick up anything, but curious if theres been lings or rockfish caught in there.

the bay is mainly flat bottom with a few wrecks scattered about. I'll be out there this PM as well fishing a "spot" thats on the seaward end of the bay. Probably holds lobster and possibly some rockfish if you would like to join.

The bay usually is a good bet for BSB and Sandies, but some legal size butts have been caught. Lots of lizard fish and Macks. (This is what I have gleened from lurking, my own experiences recently have produced only bass, lizzards, and short butts). The shoals at West end of Shelter Island are good for bass, the bridge flats good for bass and butts. I've never seen much in the way of other bottom species.
