Esco report
Swell was small, Standing IN the water with the kayak ready to jump in the swell never went passed my knees. Didnt even bother to time the waves just went in. Lots and lots of bait. But didnt get any other fish to bite. Water was as clear as i ever seen there. I could see deep into the kelp. I know seen some other fish besides bait but they never went for the bait. I just set there trying all kinds of lures scents fast and slow you name it. they just didnt seem intrested in what i got. But the bait fish would just attack anything moving in the water. So at the end of the day my bait tank of the S-14 was almost full of large bait fish. i would guess closer to 20lb. The landing was nice and easy just aim the kayak to shore and go. Swell almost completly died. It did get cold on the water around 2pm. The temp just droped and a very cold light breeze sucked the heat out of the body. For dinner its Bait fish baked with veg. Still hoping for something niecer and bigger to bring home.. Sasha |

That is a great day at Malibu. That area is so beautiful, but not too many people fish it.
Free parking, kelp beds, deep canyon, all there baby! Flat water conditions there....very nice. Don't sit in one spot too much if you ain't getting bit. Keep at it and you'll get your trophy soon. WSB, monster Hali, Ling......they are ALL there. Come out with us again, you were good company. |
