8/12 PM... Oh, the weekend crowds..

GONE!

Hit the beach with JimmyShark @ 4 pm. Launched a low tide, light onshore breeze out of the SW, 1-2ft surf. I wanted to work the iron, so if I didn't make bait it wasn't a big deal. Made it past the can and trolled a sabiki. We see birds working west of the hotel, so we made chase... After a couple of strokes, we start to see boils everywhere. We sat tight and started the grind. Threw out the JIMI and first two casts hook two toad cali's, the third cast a bonito... Cast number four.. Farmed 3 more after this one. This guy inhaled the JIMI..

Lot's of 8lb bonito...

Jimmy with his fish...

Travis (pber) hooked us up with some macs. Jimmy caught his yellow off of one..
Landed @ 900, high tide, and 1fters...

Thanks for the report, Dennis. I was down in Mission Beach(not on the water)
and the wind seemed to be blowing good. Were you getting that at all?

Kurt,
The wind wasn't that bad. I was debating on going out because the "realtime" wind was 10 mph out of the West. But, when we got there it was more like 5-6 mph. Towards the evening, the wind was blowing from the North, then later died. There was some texture on the water, but not much. -D

Nice. Inhaled is a good description. That picture almost makes me feel sorry for that guy.

Dennis,

Wasn't that a perfect evening? We found parking right away, a pb'er hooks us up with bait, and we both scored yellows!! That was sweet.. Thanks for your fish we all enjoyed it that night.
