Greenies everywhere

Went out to LJ wednesday about 11am to 4pm. Water was 90% redish orange, water temp 69 to 71, light breeze small chop definitely do-able. Only problem was everyplace a checked there were greenies high and low, trolled greenies all over, dropped the 6x salas scrambled egg everywhere and not even a sniff except for the "greenies" that were everywhere. Not much of a fish report but I thought it might help having a recent conditions report.

Yep, I was pulling them up with everything from my sabiki to irons to bare hooks. Lots well over 2 lbs. If you are thinking about making bug bait now is the time.

Same today, greenies for days, yt are there, but have full tummies, ripping outside current around 1.5kt gps speed when drifting, and WIND, with the wind waves out of the north hitting me in the upper shoulder area ... great for a work out, but miserable for fishing. Came back inside to find Greenies still everywhere. Porpoise to the north all the way to the glider port with full bellies and still herding greenbacks. Beautiful red tide at launch, lots of rays cruising, and did I say miles of greenies? Stock up... they make great bug bait!

It has been a long time but it was good seeing you out there again Paul!

I just read, san diego might have thunderstorms causing gust of winds that will blow you to mexico. Might have to change my plans.

These nasty red devils are everywhere. . .

Seems we have an infestation of these critters.

Crazy beaks on these mo-fos. And they are sneaky and strong. They trashed the live bait, the swim bait, plain no good. Only one sand bass brave enough to say hello. I let him go, but it probably got snagged and eaten alive by one of these on the way home.

sorry about the photo quality, It really wasn't that foggy (photos from a water tight bag). The wind was blowing south pretty stiff by 11 am (a breeze to get back to the harbor).

Glassy calm early on, very deceptive. Took the little 9 ft hobie sport... Not the best choice for today..
