What's going on at launch - cones, and taped off?

Taking a look at the launch, I notice it appears blocked off? And more and more cones have shown up since yesterday. Anyone have any clue what's up?

I've got into the habit of not bringing my wheel and driving right onto the beach, but there isn't much left.

Better the cones than the pile of rental kayaks.

In the past, the cones were used to separate driving and staging areas. The lifeguards wants you to use the space between the cones as parking slots. Just drive on and back your car through the space between to cones. 1 car for each slot... then the driving area can be kept clear.

It's called summer at LJ shores. Welcome to tourists, bikinis, traffic jams, angry lifeguards and people getting stuck in the sand.

That's my favorite part. I love watching idiots bury themselves in the sand.

I wasn't there. I just mean in general, it cracks me up when people get stuck in 2wd vehicles in the sand. But like Robfish, I always have straps and don't mind pulling people out. But I do get a chuckle out of it.

Went out last Saturday for my maiden voyage. Kept the boat upright on the launch and landing, so that was awesome, but more importantly, got to meet some of my fellow 'yakers and earn some newbie points on day one. Let's just say that I drive a 4WD, always carry a tow strap, and was glad to be there to help out. Now as far as summertime in LJ, all I heard someone say was bikini.
Yeah for dental floss powered swimwear, for ladies only of course.

I would also add that some ladies are not allowed to wear bikinis... you know what I'm talking about.
