Sunday 07/02 Afternoon

(Snoozed thru the yellows .... ops: )

Launched mid-afternoon, joined the Sunday LJ flotilla off Horseshoes. With birds working and acres of bait on the meter it looked great! But nobody was catching anything at all. Just wide open mackerel on the sabiki....

Went outside and caught a couple "just short" lings on heavy bucktail/ plastics. Got bored and headed inside to see if the bass wanted to play.

CHECKERBOARDS!! Got em on bait, plastics, and on the iron . Caught a couple dozen before sunset - with many in the 4 - 6 lb range. Fun stuff. Here's one on the iron that showed 5+ lbs on the cheesy spring scale, 23 inches.

Here with the AVET MX reel -
