Bummer. It comes with the territory. The amount of well-informed advice here is impressive - and sobering.

I am currently undergoing therapy for Rotator cuff syndrome and pass this advice: Don't ignore it or it will get worse. I'm sure the suggestion for pain relief works temperately but if treated in time with therapy, surgery can be avoided. Being a Hobie owner myself, I can only imagine what paddling can do to aggravate the situation. My problem stems from an old injury battling big surf that yanked my shoulder out of place, followed by subsequent long hours at the computer with bad posture. %$#$%^@ me up for a very long time!

Fake injury

Some people will do anything to buy themselves a new toy.

Wade, which Hobie are you eyeballing?

I like the "I hurt my shoulder" twist....

Seriously, hope this is not a major injury, we need a bug removal specialist on the water.

Regor nailed it... a contrast MRI is called an MR arthrogram. It shows much more than a MRI however it is usually the 3rd test ordered by a Doc. Xray-MRI-MR arthrogram

Come to The Darkside, Wade...

Can you hear the evil call? The temptation is just too great. You can fight it all you want, but I know where you'll end up.
.
.
.
The doctors note is just another fine excuse if you asked me.
.
.
.
.
Now, the real dilemma: Revo, Outback, or Pro Angler!

If the pain was coming from my left side, i would be @ the Hospital right now getting checked for a possible heart attack?!..

The fight is only over the funds..If I had some of those red cents to drop, I'd probably get the P.A. right now..Looks like I'll be living through you guys for some time..Step it up with some new videos por favor BWE!!...

bummer Wade,
I've been plauged with shoulder probs since highschool and had full shoulder reconstuction after a compound fractured collar bone/scapula? followed by arto surgey a couple years after....I obvoiusly had no choise but IMO if its not dislocating, there a good chance it will heal on its own....after a few weeks of immobilization. Just do what you can to stay off the operating table!! If you do go under the knife your looking at a solid 2months recovery anyway, and then your shoulder will still hurt randomly anyway (arthridus?).

Immobilize for a few weeks
Hot/cold therapy really helps
Alcohol Dehydrates and inflames tissues...no good...
Also, I think sleeping habits can play a big role in shoulder issues...learn to sleep on your back with your arms at your side, if you go under the knife your gonna be sleeping like that anyway so just get used to it.

OHHH yeah, sell the Flinstone modile!!! welcome to the 21st century!!!
