There were about 7 legal Halibut caught by the 12 competitors at the first annual mtnbykr2 Halibut Derby. Eric even dueled with a Thresher for a good 15 minutes. The morning started off slow for everyone with no fish landed till probably about 9am when Tim (tagyak) got on the board. I farmed a couple of nice bites in the next half hour or so, then finally stuck one about 10am that turned out to be a winner. Sun broke through fairly early and light winds until we got off the water. I think we did pretty good for next to no tide movement today. Thought Matt had the winner when he hooked up with about 5 minutes to fish, but it was just a bit short. Worked hard for my 2 fish today, but not anywhere near as hard as the guys fishing after a couple hours sleep or less. Great to put some more faces to names out there. When is the next one?

Make that 9 legals with the largest coming in at around 32inches and weighing 12lbs, was caught after the fat lady decided to sing. Well, at least I got some points for the WCW.
