Last minute effort for November
When we woke a few hours later it was reading much nicer around 4-6 mph and the surf and weather looked nice on the Yakcam. So, we headed to the beach for a noon launch. All the bait you wanted at the pier. Stayed north and tried for flat ones, with a little bit of yo-yo'ing here and there. All to no avail (except stocking up on a little more bug-bait). It stayed beautiful, some of the better afternoon weather we've encountered, with only a mild wind. Landed just before dark.

Still, great to spend some time otw.
Today was strategically important day to get out there, with November end and all... I have to admit I had my stuff packed hoping for mid-day run, but ended up working. We'll knock 'em dead in December. 8)

About 2 PM as I walked down the boardwalk to get my truck I saw 2 white kayaks way out in front of the pier, the question of who is answered

I've been very thankful for my large point cushion this week. Wanted to go this morning but couldn't get out my nice warm bed to face the cold. Guess I'm become a true SoCal boy. Good effort to all who tried this week, hopefully December will be kind to us, both weather and fish-wise

Nate, not really. I like to see everyone get in to some fish. While its always fun to catch, the carnage of last winters squid run, with bendos left and right, was truly a site to behold and a great thing to be part of, even on the days I personally came up empty.

Last year was insane. I hope it repeats soon, for everyone. If this chilly weather holds for the weekend I may not even need ice for my beers.

December re-do
Yeah, insane with bendos everywhere. I need a re-do from last year so I will be waiting for the "non-post". Then I'll know it's time I will have a shot at my second chance to avoid the lobster pot lines!!! Yo-Yo madness and complete carnage!!

Just like last year this time, they're catching those 25-30# fish off Cat; when they disappear from there and head this way I'll light up @ 0430 and supply some candy like last year. Can't wait!
