Baja

Thinking of heading to Baja in September due to schedule opening up and my wife giving me the green light

Plan is to leave on the 20th.....and stay at the Old Mill Hotel in San Quintin for 4 nights.......fish south of there on the 21st,22nd, 23rd, and head back home on the 24th.....last year went to Abreojos and would love to go there again but it is a long haul and probably requires more days to make it a more relaxed pace.

if anyboy on BWE is interested in heading down and doing some fishing......let me know......

Man, if I wasn't leaving for my freshman year at Cal in August, I would be down there. Looks like San Martin Island is starting to turn on with some consistent yellows!

I have a Tundra but an off road vehicle isn't neccesary for that area.....YT & WSB would be my main target......Highway 1 to San Quintin.....no too far south of the border...... I have never fished the area but know there are some fish to be had down that way with a good launching spot.........have to drive from the hotel each day to the launch burt it is not too far......off to Nicaragua tonight for 8 days so will be off line until then

That sounds like a pretty fun trip...
I would have to definately carpool with someone to make it down there at a reasonable price. Last baja 500 I wanted to take my Yak with me and take a small detour but I didn't... ha ha

How much does a hotel room cost per night at that hotel?

I forget what they were but remember them to be ridiulously cheap......although I shared the room with two people that I was travelling with.....the place was empty, clean, and safe and the food was good......I will check the prices next week when I get back into town

I just looked it up and Yeah... Price wise, you can't go wrong. The cheapest option is the 6 bed dorm for $88 or a two bed room for $30

I am penciling this in! ha ha
