I'm no expert but I don't think that the plastic will fair well exposed to the ultraviolet rays of the sun for extended periods of time. Have you ever found an old 5 gallon bucked that's been left outside for extended periods of time? They get really weak and brittle.

I know I wouldn't store my kayak outside. When I'm not either fishing from or transporting it, it's been washed with fresh water and soap and stored in my garage on it's stand.
