Right now you can be lazy and launch late and just paddle by the Outer Banks Commercial boat. They will sell you a giant kayak scoop for $10. They will be there until at least Monday, maybe longer depending on the squid levels.
Or you can be a dumb ass like me and launch at stupid early, find the squid, (look for very diffuse marks without significant arches), catch the squid 1-2 at a time on squid rig, (usually easiest by bouncing just off the bottom), get ink all over EVERYTHING, then lose squid rig to giant bat ray, re rig with new squid rig, take squid and go feed the Calico's and lings at the forest edge, run out of squid and do it all over again with a stupid grin the whole time.... Great times! And maybe, just maybe find one of those elusive Ghosts people keep telling me exist. Good Luck |

don't be so hard on yourself!! you have the skills, im sure your doing everything right, your just in a little slump. just think how sweet it will be when things are back to normal for you. my suggestion..... be a dumb ass and get up at o' dark thirty make bait. im sure if you (HandyMan) had to do it all over again..... you would.
