Made Some Lemonade

Fished with the fleet yesterday for nada. Packed up in shame and took my squirts with me. Switched over the bass rod and had a ball in the shallows...all released. Mixed bag for about 15 fish.

W,

This info's been offered up many times:
This catch was all on one small reef in shallow water.
Live squid is deadly...I burned through a dozen very quickly
I also made small mackeral and sardine with the sabiki rig
The first fish was about a 5# Calico Bass and bit a live mack
The rest were caught on squid, chunked sardine or filet of mack
I get MANY more bites with fresh cut vs soaked out cut bait, change often
Many guys use juice...I have it but didn't need it that day

My favorite location was "given" to me by a cluster of lobster pots during season. Turned out to be a small reef, rarely fished. Mark it with the gps if it looks good. If you don't have gps...
Fish the tide

Hope this helps
