I have been working at the Hyatt in LB(By the convention Center)and the job is 9-5 so I have been fishing in the morning on the belmont pier.2 weeks ago I saw a small thresher jumping clear out of the water and a guy said that some were caught off the pier this year.Yesterday there is a guy with 4 heavier setups out flylining live baits. He said he has caught 2 off the pier this year both were quite small at about 40# or so(the size most of us would throw back)

Just food for thought to chew on.They are out there.
