I'm at work looking at some of the live feeds...this is insane. They did mention tsunami warnings for Hawaii, Mexico, Chile, Australia and a few other places, I'm sure our coast should see a surge of water as well.

I know that as of about 2 am the OC sheriffs were shutting down access to all OC beaches. donno what SD is doing. I know ill be down at the DP harbor. Last year when that quake hit Chile I was living in Monterey and i saw this footage this guy posted standing by Wind N Sea on Youtube....unreal the ripping current. imagine trying to paddle out through that shit...

A moment of silence for Japan...
Disclaimer: I live life to the height of my potential---so take my advice with a grain of salt.
If you're talking about La Jolla, though---expect the largest 2' wave you've ever seen . I'm willing to bet that if you blink, you might miss it. So pay close attention! I'll be doing my part today by lowering the water level---pulling giant fish out of the ocean.

That video of Dana Point was impressive. That CG(?) boat was struggling to get out of the harbor.
Anyone have anything about SD? Found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ogQe...1&feature=fvwp That video link is from 2010 - didn't notice until now. I wonder what dropped gear you could find during the low point? Last edited by old_rookie; 03-12-2011 at 02:16 PM. Reason: date of video |
