Braid or Mono?

I just have a question. Why is braid generally louder on the guides? I like the strength, but I just cant get use to the sound it makes on the guides. What are your thoughts?

You're hearing the sound of that braid rubbing, if mono where textured like braid you would hear that as well, but it's smooth. Fishing for the big fish in the Kelp, I'll take Braid every time. Fishing deep structure for rock fish, I'll take braid. Fishing out in the open ocean I'll use the Mono. I actually like the sound braid makes going through the guides.

Once you hook up a 50lb white Seabass and hear the sound of your braided line go ZIP ZIP ZIP ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZIP.... and feel the kelp go POP POP POP and again ZIP ZIP ZIP ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZIP

you will learn to love that sound.

I'm heading out this Saturday for my first launch at La Jolla, I hope there's some love out there.

I agree. I like the sound it makes. Besides, you gotta use it when you start throwin those wax-wings! $$$
