yeah it was straight line to line via uni knot. ill try the swivel for sure.

There are some really small premium swivels that will easily fit through your rod guides making it possible to have a fairly long leader and still cast. These swivels are rated at about 80# test.

They are much stronger and perform better than the cheap swivels normally found in the big sporting good stores. Most specialty tackle shops carry this kind of swivel.

Hey Patrick. I prefer a swivel as I don't have much confidence in my line to line knots. However, in your brother's case I don't think it would have made any difference. If my line is going to fail anywhere its going to be the floro knot at the swivel. With the load of an angry yellow, no stretch spectra and maxed out drags, something has to give. Was he using your Newell?

Gonna cook for the boys at the office today. And he was using my sealine. I have some of those premium swivels in the garage so im gonna throw it on tomorrow.
