LA River Kayaking

This is serious and I felt it pertained to all kayakers, who knows what this could do for fishing in the future? Please take a look at the link to sign the petition and for updates on the situation.

P.S. Millions have been spent improving the banks and upper banks of the river this is a very possible thing.

Too bad the Environmental groups that should be working on this cut a deal behind closed doors with the City of LA to back off on any legal action related to LAs noncompliance related to the clean water act in exchange for an endorsement from the City of LA for the Malibu MLPA closure.

As result we kayakers get shut out of the best fishing in the LA area with a closure of fishing at Big Kelp Reef, the La Jolla of our area, and the city gets to hold off spending the millions you mention, money they are supposed to spend to clean up the river to meet the standards spelled out in the clean water act.

I have an idea: If the issue is really public access get the people behind this petition to push for pubic fishing access at Malibu, at Big Kelp Reef, and I'll do whatever I can to help them get public access to the LA River.

Jim
