I had it in my lap I do not fish with gaff.

The yellow was a big one she thrashed on my lap

and I only had one hook out of three set. It was in the corner of the lip, had it in my hands and then a calm swim away

next time...Oh I released 4 wsb kept one and a 30#er yellow the fishing sucks stay home and surf the net to find out when the next bite will be
