La Jolla 6-17-10

Headed out to la jolla again today wow what a difference the water was clean and clear lookin nice blue to it bait was everywhere

drifted a while with a spanish mack and got nailed near the kelp came up with a nice 17" calico

drifed a while longer with another mack but no takers

talked to a couple other yakkers and they saw a couple of WSB come up
Tried a bit closer to where they were getting bit
WHAM and pulllll oh my god that was the most powerful fight i've ever felt i could feel the awesoem power behind each tail strok as it dragged me and my yak around
i fought it for about 7-8 mins prety much every run it took back the line i reeled in and then finally like it said ok that was fun but i'm done it ran like it dint know i was there and the line broke

when i brought up the line about 3-4' of it was just completely scoured

so thats what a thresher feels like

not alot after that i did pick up a couple of rockfish which will be making some nice fish tacos for dinner and did restock the bait bukkit

also lost another camera to the sea gods which will be the last camera i take out on the yak as much as i would love to get a nice on the water pic with me and my first wsb wifey will kill me if i keep losing cameras
