5-28 Carlsbad

Launched at 4:45AM in very grindy mixed windswell, found a dropoff that wouldn't quit on sand and calico bass, literally all you wanted. Got one past the group and up came this guy.

Missed the first shot and he lit me up with two sweet runs but in the end, i win! Had to be home by 8 AM, not a problem today!

Nice work, Dan. It looks like North County might be the new hotspot for BWE points.

Nice flattie. I caught one barley legal in the harbor today and a few shorts and had some nice ones slam my bait, but couldn't set the hook.

Nice Hali Dan!
I laugh every time I read one of your reports. It reminds me of the first time I met you, actually u were the first yaker i met. It was last summer, I got lost in the fog and you bailed me out Then you pretty much put me on a huge spot of yellows were yelling at me "throw somthing at them". I was still fumbling with my rods. "Throw ANYTHING at them!!!" Still fumbling. You chuck a line at them hook up and have 2 yellows in your lap by the time i even wet a line. Needless to say, I was fishless my first outing at LJ. I think i would STILL be paddling in circles in the fog if you hadn't bailed me out. Hopefully this summer I can get a paddle in with you again and watch you outfish me AGAIN!
Nice Hali Dan!
