LJ 8/28

Got a bit of a late start but still got out to the scene of the choas on Sat by about 8:00AM. What a difference a day makes because it was very quiet all day. Lambcrew did get into some,

but then they began an unusually chumming technique that had us all getting the heck out of dodge, upwind. Along the kelp I finally saw some nervous bait when the smelt I'd been dragging gets hit. Put the wood to the beast and ended up flinging him into my lap. I think it's a baby yellowtail, but Andy can correct me.

Paddled in with Ken and landed around 1:00. Beach still a zoo. All in all, a tough weekend for me, with one fish broken off in the tournament and almost 25 hours on the water the last 3 days. Taking today off and may go Am or PM (or both ) tomorrow. Nelz, you around?

Congratulations again to Andy for his impressive win. There's a lot of great fisherman out here, some more self-promoting than others, but I know who I would never bet against. Jim put on a great tournament, great raffle, and Arne had the best day not fishing I think was possible. And JimmH is still a putz.

Hey, it was a scientific experiment! We were studying the impact on human pollution on bait behavior.

Taking a swim was the better part of our day yesterday. Nothing beats summer.

Brad,
Nice to see you and Ken out there. My buddy invited me to take his boat out. Jimmyshark hooked up, and then got kelped.. No love for me, maybe because I wasn't on my kayak . We did see a yellow surface. He came up to the boat, but as soon as he saw us he turned tail. Nothing after that..

Ken- Next time I'll be on the yak ...

Dennis, good seeing you guys on the water!

Fishing from a boat sure offers a different perspective.

At least you had the speed to flee from Jasmin's ocean going brown trout!!

I think Brad might be to out paddle Dave Easton with one of "those" off his stern.

Adi,

That is just nasty. Now I'm thinking my throwing up three times had nothing to do with me being seasick.

I went out hoping to score some YT and maybe a big WSB. The top 15' of water had a nasty 6' vis. I did see a lot of barracuda but no YT or WSB.

WOW.

I knew Jasmin is quite capable (he is full of it), but to made that kind of impact on LJ water visibility really amazes me...
