3 days...

A bachelor party fishing trip got canceled due to weather this week, and I was in the fishin' mood. Headed down to LJ, because I still cant lift my kayak over my head to fish the 'bu (aaaand I'm addicted). I have graduated from my boot though!

Day 1:
Swell and current. Saw a guy roll on the way out. I took my time and made it between sets. I was having fish finder "issues" so staring down for too long with the crazy swells left me sea sick for most of the day.

Day 2:
First YT from a yak, Sweeeeet!!!! On a 7'6 medium teramar, put up a hell of a fight!

Day 3:
Amazing weather. Chasing around birds.

Dropped a Yo-Yo on a fish mark for this guy. released, after wrestling his tail for my iron.

And no yellowtail for me, because I cant cast. Off the water at 9pm.

But it was a great 3 days, and sashimi is AWESOME!

Nice fishing with ya', Dane.

First Yellowtail on the kayak: epic!...you'll never forget your first.

Very few guys catch their first Yellowtail on a surface-iron (less than 1% I'm sure). That said, I know many men who have never caught a Yellowtail on a surface-iron...after trying for years, not days.

First Yellowtail caught on a kayak with a surface-iron...
...with a short Bass rod rated for 15 lb line: priceless!

Nice first Yt and nice seeing you on the water. I remember my first Yt on the yak and it was about a third that size. Way to go.
