my LJ hearbreak 3-20-10
arrived at 6am for a solo venture it was packed and parking was scarce launched into the fog by 6:30 thick as pea soup headed out with my compass got past the buoy into the kelp got out my gear (gps confirmed i was outta the reserve) and started making bait dropped one down same spot and it was game on rookie move lost the first pick up due to the fact that i still had my drag on lock down (i tighten my drags for landing and launches) second drop and i was on again after 25 min or so, 20 or so runs progressivly shorter, but pretty much straight down and into more kelp, (and almost loosing my rod outta my hands from the hard pullin monster more than once), eventually broke fluro leader at the knot, while trying to horse it past a kelp barrier some 20+ feet below me all the time i was having visions of Danes wsb the day before and my first chance at going home early since ive been fishing LJ insted i stayed out until 6pm chasing the birds and whatnot for the skunk after paddling what seems like days on end today my arms feel like they are gonna fall off will i do it all again? u bet paul |

Last Saturday was my first try fishing off the kayak. It was a great time even thought it was pretty quiet. I had 20+ fish in the bait tank thanks to Echo/Jeff. I ended up catching a small cuda on a iron. Was still too much fun. Looking forward to doing it again. (my wife is not pleased about this fishing thing)
