LJ - 5/3 AM - No Bendo

Pretty calm out this morning with only a 1/2 dozen yakers out and a tin cartopper cruising the kelp line.

Made some amazingly HUGE Spanish and drug them around high & low for one rip of the clicker and a saw off.

Talked to one fella that landed approx. 40# WSB on his brand new kayak. A very stoked gent - needless to say he had a shit eatin' from ear to ear as he paddled by.

Heard of one other WSB hookup that was lost as it flopped outta the guys lap after gaf. OUCH - Sorry about that Man.

Landed to 1' surf, slight breeze and overcast skys. Tin boater said he say yellows popping up on the outside.

Good Luck to the PM shift.

Kelp was submerged and appeared in clumps on the sonar rather than vertical stringers. Made bait out in 40 - 50' in front of the big white condo bldg.

Launched at about 5:45 to small surf. Took way too long to make bait at the pier. Finally ended up with three greenbacks. Paddled out to the WSB spot, 1 up and 1 down. One on the bottom got picked up but yanked out of the fishes mouth after 10 seconds. Didn't feel like the right kind. Had yellowtail popping up on the surface from 85 to 130 ft. of water. Just couldn't get too them fast enough. Water was green on the outside, dirty on the inside. Lots of floating kelp and eel grass between the pier and the north side of the canyon. Wind didn't start too pick up until I hit the beach at 10:30. Good to see you Jimbo. Felt great too be back on the water.

Thanks for the reports guys. Reports over the last few days are looking up. One of these days those yellows are going to start to eat. How brutal is that to lose one that is already on the deck? Gonna give it a shot on Friday, hope it all busts loose then.

Razorback, don't let those pornstar baits scare ya off, big fish love 'em!

Kurt, good to hear that you are hunting from the kayak again!

Are you ready for a WFO yellar session?

Nothing going on yesterday PM or this morning. On the way in with Corey last night, I almost got spooled by a young sealion that bit the pointy end of my mackeral :P Thought it was a T shark for a split second before that brown bag started porpoising all over. Took about 200 yards of spectra and almost pulled the rod out of my hands before breaking off the 30# leader. Easy bait making just north of the yellow can, last night and this morning, right on the drop off. Greenbacks were everywhere yesterday. I was getting them on the iron (cross greenback off my Ironman list) This morning was just milling birds and bait, that I saw.
