Ok...
this is like asking a parent to choose a favorite child...
it's just not fair...
this may be selfish of me...
but...
who cares!
I'm selfish!
too many good times this year to pic one winner...
they all win!

Three new personal best bass this year.
2 3/4 lb Newport Bay spottie

6 3/4 lb Malibu calico

7 lb 13 oz Malibu sandy

all by myself in Malibu...
no one to take my pic...
laughing like a giggling idiot...
37lbs Malibu WSB

and since this "IS" a La Jolla based web site...
here is my second LJ YT...
one of only two ever caught by me down yonder...
Josh takes great pics...
makes this 21 lber look much bigger...

sorry if I bogarted this post....
I just couldn't resist...

Yakrider, we have a lot in common. Same boat, same size fish and Josh put us on both of them. Interesting.

Big fish are hard to come by....almost as hard as getting good on the water shots. Both take patience, skill and lots of hard work....the rest of us just get lucky.
My favorite pics from 09.

Scallywag,

Where did you manage to find a place to put your fish after catching it? Your kayak is about as loaded with gear as any I have ever seen.

hahaha, i do look like im having a yard sale but its mostly beer and food (sometimes, when i'm on a mission i also bring an extra set of peddles, they do fail). I need weight up front to keep the tandem trimmed so it rides smooth and doesn't take on water from the rudder holes. The blue box is a oversize bait tank, then the soft 30pack cooler and the floating ammocan FF(the transducer is clamped on the side), the only thing in the crate is a drybag, game clip and some flouro. When i catch fish the soft cooler goes in the crate and the fish goes on the deck, kinda like this....

My biggest from the yak this year was a 45lb.http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/i...es/bwe/wsb.gif caught in March. To bad water got in my camera and made it all blurry. No YT in 09 for me but im not complaining as i only made the trek a handful of times. This year i plan on breaking the YT skunk. Here is to a productive year.http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/i...ing-smiley.gif

I got plenty of quality fish from my boat. But, this is a kayak forum. So, I've been hitting DVL this year in hopes of a lineside tow. But, all I was able to come up with is LMB. I got a few personal bests, but don't bring the camera too often. This is not my best but up there for me in fresh water.

Not the heaviest fish of the year but it was the longest and it won the Moyer tourney.
