Ben, nice to meet you at the launch. Yes sir, light tackle rockfish, forget
that hard stuff , bring the bass rods with spectra and 2 oz
bulletheaded 5 inch plastics in any color. Remember these fish don't move
much (say, compared to a bonito) and, the fishfinder is only one part of
the equation.

The other key is a GPS:

I plan to be launching again this Sunday around 7 am - my forecast is
smaller surf, 75 degrees, and sunny with light winds. You guys can PM me
your email address if ur interested in following me out into that area from
Big Rock.

P.S. Photos always help my adrenaline level ->

Josh, no, haven't really targeted them. 90% of my fishing this summer
has been at Santee Lakes with my girls. I'm not too picky about what I
catch, as long as I'm simply fishing (my wife says the aquarium is off limits
though!).

The wary Santee Lakes Threadin Shad on 2# line and a fly ... another challenge.

Re-defining the term 'Shallow Water Rockfish'. Note the two little lobsters getting in on the photo op.

Nice work Larry. Sounds like fun to tag along, bummer I will be out of to this weekend. Still plan on getting some epic rockfishing done on the trip up on the central coast my old stopping grounds. Hope you knock them out again.

Very nice Larry, I am with you on that light tackle fishing. Two weeks ago I caught a 10.5 sheepshead fishing the bass rod with spectra, great fun!
When you do target lings, is it live bait or jigs? If you care to share. Thanks.
