Norm said to only bring five rods, with the trolling sticks and bait sticks, I decided to leave my sabiki rod at home. I meant to pack one in that package just in case, but I forgot about it.

With all that bait out on the paddies the sabiki would of been the ticket no doubt.

I have done it and caught bonito and too close to the kelp for calicos

Similar experience for me... they work but mainly for Bones and macks. If we constantly had tuna inshore where we could fish for them they might be red hot way to rig but personally I'd rather troll a rapala inshore due to the white seabass and yellowtail factor.
