It's true you should launch on the north side of the power plant. However, the whole parking lot is on the north side of the power plant. So, to be more specific, launch at the far south end of the parking lot. FYI, much of S.O has excellent surfing. That makes it good for surfers and challenging for kayakers. Check the wave height forecast before you head out.

Camped there awhile back
I still couldnt get pass the gate till the ranger showed up at around 5 am (with everyone else) if you can handle the surf, go for it! bait is easy to make and lots of fishies hang around there (so do the sharks, ask John... Buttchaser ![]() |

just went there a month ago bounceballed the whole time in front of the power plant caught a legal & buncha bass
