Conditions at LJ today?
For anyone that went out today, how were conditions? Have heard there is a high surf warning but just for south facing beaches. Thanks! |

launched to ankle slappers this morning and landed in 1 to 2 foot waves with water temps reaching 74-5. Great conditions and tons of log cuda on the iron.

Dont know about around the kelp Sat, conditions were good up north but no love, I'll be out Sunday grey light hoping for a WSB in the kelp, Ive got some squid (fresh frozen) to dangle off a jig. I have some to share if interested, look for a sand ws slogging through the kelp.

Nice yellow Dave. I figured you caught something when you posted earlier today. It's good to be off the water by 9:00 A.M.

As far as fishing, all I got was a 16" calico on my sabiki. Tons of bait it the water. Made greenies, spanish and some nice sardines. Water was crystal clear. Saw about 20 other yakkers out trying their luck. Nice meeting you Johnny in the white F&D. Fished both open water and the kelps. Saw a guy hook and land a nice yellow. Like I said, there was SO much bait in the water that maybe the YT got their fill early. Oh well, theres always next time............ |

There sure was alot of bait around that day. I'm surprised there weren't more fish cooperating! I've lost a few fish this month so I wasn't about to lose this one, I brought him up very gently!!!
