yes you need to acquire a CF number from the DMV if you use any motor.
I am surprised more Hobie dudes don't use the sail, it is pretty cool. Aaron out in front of Little Harbor. ![]()

I borrowed a sail for my Revo once. It was a lot of fun and made it easy to cover long distances. The only issue I have is where do you put the sail while fishing?
A really cool thing happens when you peddle with the sail deployed. As you are propelled through the water by foot, you create, "apparent wind" which, as it blows over the sail, creates horizontal "lift" which, in turn provides additional thrust. I know it sounds weird but this really works. Bob |

Its a bit of a pain, but I tightly roll up my sail and put it under the paddle bungee on the side of my Revolution. If you do that you just have to remember to rinse off your sail well when you are done with it.
