I can't go this time. It was great seeing so many of you at the Santa Ana meeting last month. From what I observed I have a few recommendations.

Manage your emotion, some people (not kayakers) came across as angry, the audience doesn't hear the message of the angry person. Angry people are fun to watch but no ones takes them serious.

Say something like "I'm an environmetalist, I care more about this ecosystem than most people".

Don't show off any big fish you caught recently, especially sharks.

Stay away from "catch and release" justifications. Many people including myself don't understand why people get joy dominating and ripping lips of cute little fishies just to throw them back in the water. "Sustainable consumption" based on DFG monitoring may be more appropriate. YMMV on this one.
