Just wanted to say Hi

Hey all,

Just wanted to introduce myself and say "Hi"

The name is Dave and I'm new to kayak fishing. Purchased a Tarpon 160 a couple weeks ago and have been busy getting it rigged to fish. The wife told me that it looks like I have just as much fun rigging it as I will fishing, probably true. Will post some pictures soon.

Look forward to contributing here and see you out on the water soon.

Dave

My wife says that I spend more time playing with gear than actual fishing.
Probably right. It's still fun.

Welcome Dave,

As you get deeper into kayak fishing you will probably start McGiver-ing your new kayak to make it work the way you want. This is half the fun.

As for catching fish, you will soon learn that only people named Josh, Nate, Morgan and a couple others are allowed to catch any. The rest of us have to resort to reading about their exploits in forums such as this one. This is fun too.

The most fun, however, will come on the day when the fishing gods mistake you for Josh or one of the others and allow you to catch your first YT or WSB. After that first taste, you and your checkbook will be hooked for sure.

Welcome to the family.

Bob

You can certainly take it to the level that they are and have a great time.

I myself have just as much and if not more fun just getting out on the water getting my ass kicked by the bay creatures and shore break!

Like the other 90% of us...
