Based on what I have been told by some of my Lifeguard friends, this is only part of what is being proposed. The City also wants to put parking meters on all the streets at the shores, allegedly to free up parking spaces for visitors. Translated to the language that most of us speak, that means generate revenue for the City.

We should fight this. I would rather pay more in taxes than have to pay to park at the beach. Del Mar has gone to this and I now avoid that city like the plague. You now need an access pass to drive into our local mountains for a picnic. This sucks. Some things, such as public access to our natural resources should be free.

My 2 cents for the day.
