I don't think they close it, just the weather conditions make it tricky. When I showed up at about 5:320ish there was stormy surf and it was going up right to the street where it had taken the sand away. So if you really wanted to go out you just have to drop your boat in at the end of the street an jump in and go for it. I decided to go the other route and head to the bay,SI. Me and my buddy ended up with a couple sandies each. But I just really wanted to test out the new boat. Just a few sprinkles to deal with, all in all a good day on the water.
