Turns out the rod did not belong to the guy that called me saying it was his, so bump back to the top. The owner of the Rod still needs to be found. Thanks to the honestly of the guy for not taking it.

I sent Jim a PM a while back but I'll post it here in case anyone knows the guy. I saw a guy lose a pole the night before Jim found one, he was in a FnD, seen him out there many times, has a European accent (maybe East Europe?) and wears gloves on cold mornings. Wish I was better with names. Hope he hooks up with Jim, who deserves to cross one off his karma list even if he doesn't find the guy.
