I wonder what they would say....and I wonder if maybe some wild west shoot outs or outlaws climbed out to evade lawmen. One things for sure you can see them coming from both sides.

I guess it was just one event that happened in 1871 September 17

Carson city prison out break and shoot out at the lake.

Quit early LOL
First year wanting to fish off my kayak.

You rig a Carolina rig with a 12 inch leader. Or do you troll?

Good Luck

Old Town...Good Luck with your first year of kayak fishing...
Sorry...there's no simple answer to your question...
I fish according to where the Trout are and what they're feeding on.
If they're deep or mid depth...I'll troll and use the down rigger or the lead core line with a small broken back Rapala or a Thomas Boyant...and if they're picky I'll use the Owner Slow Death worm hooks with a nite crawler threaded on (a worm threader is a great tool to get em on the hook neatly) and a small flasher.
If they're shallow or on the surface I'll just fish the 1/32 or 1/16oz Hookup Baits in Brown or Black/Gold...if the fish were recently planted the yellow/white works well too. I fish the Hookup baits on 4 pound Flouro with 8 or 10 pound braid line as backing on a small Shimano spin reel and a Loomis 7.5' light action rod.
If the fish are spread out... I'll Very Slowly troll the Hookups while giving them some action to activate the crazy darting action they have...the Crawfish hot sauce that HookUp sells, really helps getting bit too.
Have Fun...That's the key...and have confidence in your rigs...
