Redondo Hand Launch damage...

That big west swell Tuesday night did some major damage to the King Harbor hand launch and the Yacht Club parking lot at the north end of the harbor...
Looks like it may be a while to get the hand launch repaired...I'm sure it's not high on the city's priority work list...they're just keeping the old girl alive until they can come up with the new "Waterfront" plan...
The "Hoist" dock is usually available to hand launch at times like this...but its a tough entry to the ramp without having two people and a lighter type kayak...

Bummer. My family launched our sailboats off that crane decades ago. Cool to see that it is still there, but sad to see the damage.

Dang, that's some serious swell. Hope the boats in basin 3 did ok. (City of Redondo sank in weather like that)
