Respite on SD Bay
We launched from Shelter Island Launch Ramp. Lots of tuna hunters heading out. Cool clear morning but you could tell it was going to get warm. We headed out to the Jetty. He working frozen anchovies me plastics. He immediately hooked into a Sandie and then another. I was about to try my luck with the frozen stuff when BANG. Sandie hit me and kept hitting. Water was calm no breeze until after 1130. It got hot out there. R kept snagging fish and losing on the anchovies and I lost some tail bites too. We caught fish all over south of Shelter Island out to the Jetty. We both caught at least 20. R caught some big smelt. My count: 1 Mack, 1 Cuda, 10 Sandies, 5 Spotties, 1 Cali, 1 Sculpin, and a 21.5 inch Hali. R more protective of his count. He caught Hali, Sandie, spotties, Mack, Sculpin, smelt. One other flat fish. Thanks R. Neeed this outing to rejuvenate my soul. |

I have a brother with Parkinson's. It sucks. Glad to see you were able to find some respite.
