For paddling? I like to put Argos dive socks on my feet when I'm not in waders because the kayak hurts my wimpy, bony ankles. Cheap, durable, and not bulky like wearing shoes on your yak would ne.

I bought some cheap 10 dollar watersport shoes at big 5. They work fine for me.

these are made by Outland, normally $50 but got them on sale for $10, they are great for peddling, they dry fast and have good support for the sole of the foot, very comfortable

These are what I also use and have used them for 3.5 years now. I had 3 toe shoes and one other I can't remember the brand. Neither lasted long using at La Jolla. They were also not very comfortable when you end up having to walk from and to were the Truck is parked after launching usually 1-4 blocks. Those others have a very thin sole that is got no support. These have a thick sole with instep rise and muck better protect your toes from obstacles. Here is a link to a EBay post were new ones are $27.99 and free shipping. There was another post for black in color... I think my present pair have been used at least 130 times.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Outland...QAAOSwHWJe4RYD
