New to kayaking Pacific in LA

Hello all,
I just got an ocean worthy kayak a week ago, but am overwhelmed about going it alone. I live in DTLA and would appreciate if you let me tag along with you, or a group nearby. I have fishing gear, but don't know where to go find the fish or even put in. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Pretty much anything except sharks, would love to try for tuna. I got a used kayak that came with a hook 4 ff, still trying to figure that thing out. I'm willing to drive, but gotta go outa state on the 10th and wanted to go before then.

Hey dude, welcome to the forum. Are you new to kayaking or just the area?

Thanks, I'm new to kayaking the ocean, and peddle drive. I've gone on overnight kayaking trips in rivers and lakes in texas and Oklahoma that where a blast with a sit in kayak that I owned. So yeah, new to the area.

Cool. You are pretty close to some nice fishing areas i.e. redondo, palos verdes, county line, leo carillo, san pedro, long beach. The oc beaches are within about and hour and the san diego hot spots are about 2 hours south of you.

Anyone going out July 2nd or 3rd that wouldn't mind a tag along? I would appreciate it.

I'll be in La Jolla tomorrow morning... but it's quite a ways south of you. There are always guys out there. I'm also a rookie, so no expert guide advise from me. Ha
