Newport 5/18

I will be there with my father in-law. Haven’t decided if we’re going to stay in the harbor and fish, or try our luck out in deeper water. Either way I’ll be fishing off my lime green Malibu X-13.

Newport launch area

There are 2 locations I launch from in Newport. 1st is at the coastguard station. Second one is off kids beach in balboa peninsula.

cool, thanks. I thought the coast guard was what was being referenced but wanted to make sure. I will be out there (coast guard location) on a camo trident 13 around 6.

Cool. We will be launching from kids beach. Right across the harbor, we also plan to launch around 0600/0630. I will be on the green X-13. My father in law will be on a tan ascend 12. Looking forward to getting on some fish!

SoCalEDC, sorry I wasn't more explicit earlier. Work was crazy today. I'll be there at 6 and will be in my dark blue Saturn Vue with a Red Ride 135 on on top.

BrianH, the wind is going to be up a bit. 6mph at launch time, building to 12mph. Might want to consider staying in the bay. Don't know what your limit is for wind though. If you do stay inside, we'll most likely start on the buoy line near the launch.

Amish Ed, thank you, I’ve been keeping my eye on the winds all week. Our plan is to just fish bass and maybe halibut in the harbor.
