2020 Mission Bay Classic

sign up now and beat the crowd ha. Just kidding, but thinking ahead

I am thinking to make things a little more interesting next year by making spotties worth double the points. I think this will make things a little more interesting.

Any other ideas to help make this the best there is?

I like the early discussion.

How about Spotties as a separate division? Was cool to weigh some very respectable spotted bay bass this year, but even at double the points they'd have a tough time competing with guys fishing for Calico & Sand Bass on the outside. Its just another mug to buy, and some more money that gets donated to HOW

Weigh Boat got into some decent spotty action this year too

Just add another separate division, then everyone is happy.

Nice fish 👍

Keeping the fishing in the bay would certainly make it tougher for the anglers, but I don't know if it would make the tournament better, I'm sure there would be fewer measureable fish landed therefore making it less exciting for everyone.

I think a map of the area outlining boundaries would be a welcome addition to the rules so that those of us who are relatively new around here could better understand where anglers may fish. This was my first time fishing the Mission Bay Classic, and I had no idea the reefs outside the bay were fair game.

First of I want to thank Andy and all the volunteers for all the hard work putting together this event. Plus congrats to all the winners very impressive! It was a fun event. But can we change the name to BBC (big bay classic) lots more fish over there, including big halibut’s. BTW it sucks that we the fly fishing division got are butts kicked so let’s move the tournament to the big bay so next year we can get redemption
