December LJ yellowtail . Happy New Year !

Got lucky on Dec.29 Sat. at LJ.

Dropper loop with squid at 130' brought this yellowtail up from the deep.
Was targeting rockfish but welcome any yellowtail that want to play .
Rockfish were difficult , plenty whitefish but on the small side.

1 yellow
4 rockfish
1 sheephead
2 scorpion (released)
9 whitefish

Goodbye 2018 !
Hello 2019 !
Wish everybody have a productive and happy New Year !

TL
Danny

Good for you!! I was all packed, and couldn't get my ass out of bed to go. Did you catch the squid or buy it? Thanks.

Haven't tried to catch live squid for couple years, all bought from store.

Congrats Danny, on the late in the year Yellow. What a great by-catch. My luck this last half of the year has been that the by-catch are white fish or other rock fish, instead of the Yellows or mackerel I'm trying to catch. Thanks for sharing and reminding us they are still out there.
