Thanks Andy! This spot is kinda shallow in 140'. There are tons of spots I've marked out there between 120 - 240'.

Hey man! Nice to meet you. It got real snotty out there, real quick. Those wind waves plus the multi directional current made it interesting.

Yea for sure, everytime I looked down for a bit I drifted 30 yards off the spot. It didn't settle down until noon but that was about when it started getting a little more choppy.

Thanks! I have not even fished for rockfish in a few years and have never tried off Newport. I like fishing under 200 feet!

Some of those bellies are pretty fat. Did you check what they had been eating?

Just FYI, that is a great catch! It's not exactly your limit.

You could have caught two more Rockfish, and three more Sheephead.

And 10 Whitefish.

And 5 Sculpin.

(Not that I would want to fillet all that! )

DFW Regulation Page

Note: The RCG Complex is Rockfish Cabezon Greenling combined limit. Others are separate limits.

Looks like a great day! It's so fun when you can find those isolated stones like that!

I also sent you a private message with another question.

Congrats and thanks for posting the report!
