Northern Baja 7/2/2017

After having major issues with my FF, decided to stay closer to home and not go to Gonzaga over the long weekend. Instead, ran down to my friend's place south of the border to fish for bass. Fishing was excellent on Calico's in the kelp/boiler rocks with wolf packs fighting over my swim baits. Witnessed a 10lb+ calico try to eat my 2lb fish I had on the line. Kept a few for ceviche. Fished the marina in the afternoon for steady action on small spotties.

This fish was at least 7lbs. Pic doesn't do it justice. Flopped right back into the drink after the pic.

Happy 4th Everyone!!

Sounds like fun, wonder if the 10lb calico might have been a grouper ?
