That was a good article by guys that consistantly catch big halis.
I'll toss in a few extras. Keep your bait right on the bottom with your line as vertical as possible. If you're in a 100' of water with a decent drift and a big Mac you might need 8-12 oz. Lots of guys like trap hooks but i prefer a single light wire circle hook in the baits nose. I've found using the trailing treble catches more short halis, sand bass, bottom sharks, and lizard fish.
