Backside of Carlsbad lagoon

**Not on a kayak**

Buddy showed up and wanted to see one of my spots, decided to soaks one Chovies on the lagoon, found a little Hamachi skin in with my Chovies and threw it on just to see what would happen pulled up this Nice Tako about 30 mins into the soak of the hamachi.

Tako Tuesday for sure

How'd he taste? I hooked one last week on the yak while my jig was sitting on the bottom for a couple minutes.

Never understood guys who throw back octopus. They are hard as hell to target and taste damn amazing in my opinion.

I usually pin them onto a dropper loop and send them right back down...

Looks delicious though!

I was in the lagoon and he was pretty decent size. Couldn't cast him deep or anything like that
